Honest Oil Service
An oil change should take 20–30 minutes and shouldn't come with a hard sell on six other "urgent" services. At Ortigoza, we do the oil change properly with the right oil, the right filter, and an honest inspection. If we see something that needs attention, we tell you. If we don't, we don't make stuff up.
What We Use
- Conventional oil — for older vehicles where it's appropriate
- Synthetic blend — most common modern interval
- Full synthetic — for vehicles that require it (most modern engines)
- Euro-spec synthetic — for VW, BMW, Mercedes, Audi
- Diesel oil — proper diesel-rated oil for Powerstroke, Cummins, Duramax
- High-mileage formulations — for older engines that benefit from seal conditioners
- OEM-spec or premium aftermarket filters — never the cheap white-box ones
If your owner's manual specifies a particular oil weight, viscosity, or spec (e.g., Subaru 0W-20, dexos1, ACEA C3), we use it.

Recommended intervals vary by vehicle and driving conditions:
- Conventional oil: 3,000–5,000 miles
- Synthetic blend: 5,000–7,500 miles
- Full synthetic: 7,500–10,000 miles
- European cars (long-life service): 10,000–15,000 miles
- Diesel pickups: 5,000–7,500 miles (more frequent if towing or idling)
Severe service conditions — towing, frequent short trips, dusty roads, extreme cold or heat — push you toward the shorter end. Hood River winter conditions and Gorge towing both qualify.
Multi-Point Inspection Included
Every oil change at Ortigoza includes a quick walkaround. We check:
- All fluid levels (transmission, brake, power steering, coolant, washer)
- Tire condition and tread depth
- Brake pad thickness (visible through wheels)
- Belt condition
- Hose condition and visible leaks
- Air filter
- Wiper blades
- Exterior lights
If we spot something, we'll mention it — without pressure or scare tactics.
